I enjoy several aspects of art. Photography has been a life long friend starting when I was 12 years old, some 50 years ago. I'm a retired high school Instructional aide, instructing students in photography while we made the switch from film to digital. I now shoot Canon 1D bodies with 100-400 IS, 70-200 IS, 28-70 L, and use Canon ProGraf IPF printers. I live in the Pacific Northwest in an area rich with landscape scenery, bald eagles and Puget Sound fishing communities.
I am also a pastel painter and had my first work juried into our Pastel Society of the Pacific Northwest international competition, November 2010. I typically work on Wallis paper, Ampersand Pastelbord or Pastelmat. I under paint with turpentine and hard pastels or watercolors before setting to work with my pastels.
I also have a website which caters to clients seeking a sketch artist. I sketch from photographs using graphite pencils, colored pencils, conte or charcoal. I started out as a sports sketch artist but realized very soon that I would be sketching anything from babies to zebras!
